I am the Chairperson of the Department of Computer Science at the University of Gwadar, where I have taught since 2017, and a PhD candidate in Computer Science with Artificial Intelligence Specialization at FAST โ National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences, Karachi.
My research focuses on Generative AI, Natural Language Processing, and low-resource languages โ in particular my mother tongue, Balochi. My PhD work spans corpus construction, contextual embeddings, named entity recognition, and fine-tuning large language models for Balochi. I built BNer, the first gold-standard NER dataset for Balochi (58,893 tokens across five domains), and contributed the Balochi language to Global PIQA, a participatory commonsense-reasoning benchmark built by 350+ researchers covering 140+ language varieties.
Alongside research, I have over nine years of experience in university teaching, departmental leadership, and IT governance: I launched the BS Computer Science (AI specialization) and BS Data Science programs at the University of Gwadar, served as Director of IT, and supervise undergraduate final-year projects and research students.
